In force since 1 January 2024 under the Health and Care Act 2022, the PSR governs how NHS England, integrated care boards, trusts and local authorities award health care service contracts. It replaced the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 for in-scope services and runs on three processes: direct award, the most suitable provider process, and a competitive process.
