1. What an executive summary is for
The executive summary is not a summary of your company. It is a summary of why your bid is the most advantageous choice for this specific buyer, on this specific requirement. Every sentence should either state a benefit to the buyer or evidence your ability to deliver it.
Note that in formal public sector evaluations the executive summary is often unscored. That does not make it unimportant. It frames how every scored answer is read, and it is where you set the win themes that the rest of the bid proves.
